China counts 2,700 cases of new virus, 80 deaths
China said on Monday that the death toll from a deadly viral outbreak spiked to 80 as the hard-hit epicentre province of Hubei suffered 24 new fatalities, while total confirmed cases nationwide rose sharply to 2,744. The Supreme Court on Tuesday said that petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act will be heard by a five-judge constitutional bench and gave Centre four weeks to respond to petitions challenging CAA. Rising levels of air pollutants are a worry in winter, but fungus growing on the walls or air-conditioner ducts and/or pigeon droppings are a perennial cause for concern for lung health, say chest specialists.
