Nepal PM Sher Bahadur Deuba raised the outstanding border issues between India and Nepal with PM Narendra Modi in their summit meeting on Saturday and urged India to resolve the disputes through established bilateral mechanisms. Foreign secretary Harsh Shringla said after the meeting that there was a “brief discussion” on the issues and there was a “general understanding” that they needed to be addressed in a responsible manner

J&K delimitation panel to hold public hearings on draft plan
The Delimitation Commission will visit Srinagar and Jammu on April 4 and 5 to hear members of the public and civil society groups who have submitted suggestions and objections on its draft delimitation proposal for the Union Territory. Sources said most of the representations received by the delimitation commission are from Jammu (60), Anantnag (40) and Kupwara (40).

Modi & Deuba flag off first Indo-Nepal passenger train
PM Narendra Modi and Nepalese PM Sher Bahadur Deuba on Saturday flagged off cross-border passenger train services between Jayanagar in India and Kurtha in Nepal through videoconferencing. The train chugged off with 150 passengers, who were mostly dignitaries from India and Nepal besides a team of railway officials.
