Veteran playwright and actor Girish Karnad passed away on Monday at the age of 81 after a prolonged illness in Bengaluru. The actor died of multiple organ failures. The litterateur has conferred the Jnanpith award, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. The actor-director also won four Filmfare Awards. More details awaited.
